Richard
'Tazzy Wazzy' MacKenzie (also know as Macka)
Made
his debut in 2004 having been introduced to the club by fellow
South African Richard Evans. He soon made a name for himself
as a fearless and reliable fielder with very safe hands. Following
several good catches he took 3 in a game at Barns Green all
off the bowling of Gordon Young. Then, not having been able
to buy a run all season, he blasted 38 off just 36 balls versus
Melrose to strengthen his growing reputation within the club,
not so much as a cricketer but a hardened drinker with great
abilities to give out the stick at the same rate as he receives
it - this cemented his place in the side! In preparation for
2005 he attended nets where his hostile and at times near
lethal deliveries (head high beamers) saw him stake a claim
for a position in the bowling attack - if not to get wickets
to at least kill the opposition batsmen! Should keep the casualty
wards busy in 2005.
