Kings Cricket Club was founded in 1993 by a group of like minded cricket players. The success of the club is based on the solid foundation of dedicated players with six of the founder members still regularly playing. In fact nine of the current squad have made over 150 appearances, whilst long standing Skipper, Rob Young has played over 250 games at the helm and other long standing players like Richard Sones and Paul Bygrave have also played in excess of 200 games. The side is a mixture of players in their mid twenties to those who are now approaching their 50th year! Young or old we enjoy our cricket year on year!

From humble beginnings the club has flourished over the last ten years and has become a highly successful and respected team both on and off the field. Recognised by their peers as a committed and talented side who are sociable and friendly and whose intentions are to play the game in the spirit in which it was intended. Kings have a passion to be victorious, whilst fully enjoying themselves both on and off the pitch. Over the years the Club has successfully recruited talented players who have been drawn by the ethics and unique atmosphere of this small, independent and highly successful Club.
The 2003 season was the best in the Club's history when 18 out of 26 matches were won, and records were broken in all departments. Just some of the many achievements saw: five players scoring centuries, three players scoring 600+ runs, a new record highest individual score, new highest team score, most wickets in a season, three hat tricks taken and most catches in the outfield.

The Club is now in its third season as tenants at Kempton Cricket Club, following four successful seasons whilst based at Sunbury Village and then two years at Spelthorne Sports Club. The Club's name hails from the ethics it is based around, pride, determination, leadership and strength. Despite having no historical base the Club has always had an association with Ashford, Middlesex, hence the official name of Kings Ashford, however its players are drawn from far and wide across the South East.

Despite the name, Kings CC, are not, and never have been a pub team, in fact we are more a team of seasoned players finishing their playing careers together in a rather unique club. You have to have played with us to understand the team unity and comradeship.

Kings are proud to be sponsored by our benefactor, Mr Phil McDonnell of Horizon Entertainment Cargo and the Club is extremely grateful for his continued commitment and support.

The club has some outstanding players none more so than Dave Perry (6000+ runs at an average of over 40.00 and Dave Miller (5000+ runs) at an average of 35.00. Of the bowlers Nick Tighe, Simon Pipe and Paul Bygrave have all taken 300 wickets for the club.

The 2008 season brings new challenges and high standards to maintain, however as Kings CC enter their 14th year of playing it seems the Club can only become stronger still. We look forward to meeting old adversaries and new teams alike on the field this summer.
